We are excited to share some important news about a new support program that we are implementing to better identify and assist students who may be facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, thoughts of suicide, or issues related to drug and alcohol use. Our commitment to the well-being of our students is unwavering, and we are proud to announce our partnership with California State University, Monterey Bay Project REACH to make this initiative possible. The program we are introducing is known as SBIRT, which stands for Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral To… This process is designed to offer support to students and their families, and we want to assure you that it is completely optional. If you would like to opt out of this program, simply complete and return the attached form. Students will take the SBIRT in their 2nd period class on February 29, 2024. It is expected to take students approximately 20 minutes to complete the screener.
