September 30 - October 4 : Parent Teacher Conference Week
We invite all parents to attend our Parent-Teacher Conferences next week, where you'll have the opportunity to connect with teachers, discuss your child's progress, and collaborate on their educational journey!

EVERY DAY NEXT WEEK IS A MINIMUM DAY
Dismissal is 1:15pm Monday - Friday
No Homework Center all week

Please make sure that you have responded to your child's first period teacher's communication to schedule your conference time.

We will have interpretation available if needed. Please let the teacher know if you'd like to request an interpreter.

Family Engagement Opportunities This Week
We have three family engagement opportunities this week:

English Learner Advisor Council (ELAC) Meeting - We invite all families who have students classified as English Learners. We have a meeting on Thursday, September 26th at 6pm in the library. We will discuss our English Learner program and we're celebrating students who are reclassifying out of the program.

Virtual Family Engagement Workshops - This Wednesday, September 25th is our third parent engagement workshop. This is a partnership with the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE). Join us virtually at 6pm! This week's topic is: Social-Emotional Learning & Foundation for Academic Achievement

Parent Walking Group - Every Thursday at 8:15am. Bring the kids and the whole family. Check in at the front office. Those who join get a Blue Zones Project t-shirt!

We want to congratulate our wonderful HAWKS on a wonderful attendance week. It is essential that you come to school every day to learn and grow. Last week our different grade levels did an excellent job of coming to school. Here are the attendance percentages per grade level. 

Grade 6: 95.38%
Grade 7: 92.3%
Grade 8: 95.21%

Let’s keep up the good work and continue to improve.

Music Baked Potato Fundraiser
Get ready to indulge in a deliciously unique experience while supporting our school’s music program! Join us for our Music Baked Potato Fundraiser where you can savor mouthwatering baked potatoes loaded with your favorite toppings.

Buy your tickets now & get your potato later! $10 per potato.

Mark your calendars for Friday, October 18, 2024 from 3:30pm to 7:00pm. Bring your tickets and pick up your delicious baked potato.

Let’s make some noise for our school’s music program—one baked potato at a time!
 
After School Homework Center
This week, we begin After School Homework Center. We offer help every day after school.

We do not offer transportation after Homework Center.
Students must stay the entire time unless they’re signed out by a parent.
We do provide an afternoon snack.

6th Grade Girls Volleyball Tryouts start Tuesday, Sept 24th

We have a Boys Soccer & Girls Volleyball game on Monday at Harden MS & Wednesday at El Sausal MS.
Game Times: 7th Grade = 4:30pm & 8th Grade = 5:30pm

Entry Fee = $5 Adults, $1 Children

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th to October 15th. Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx communities. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be highlighting important figures, traditions, and stories that have shaped our world.

Suicide Prevention Month
September is National Suicide Prevention Month. Suicide is the tenth leading cause of death overall in the United States, and the second leading cause of death among youth and young adults.
