Families: We still need your help!
We are still averaging under 95% and our school goal is to be over 95% every day. Please help us bring our attendance rate up!
Tardies continue to be an issue. This last week we had 104 tardies on Tuesday and 83 tardies on Friday. This is not the GV way.
We need your support at home in stressing the importance of attendance and being on-time.

Ms. Jenine Campos Jimenez
|
This week, we are thrilled to recognize Ms. Jenine Campus Jimenez, one of our dedicated paraprofessionals, as Hawk of the Week! Ms. Jenine’s compassion, patience, and commitment to our students and community make her an invaluable part of our school.
Her peers praise her for going out of her way to help our Spanish-speaking students, being excellent with students both in the classroom and during non-academic classes like PE, and for the simple fact that the kids absolutely love her. Her positive impact is felt school-wide.
Ms. Jenine works closely with students in need of specialized academic instruction, demonstrating remarkable patience and kindness. She explains information in ways that truly resonate with her students, ensuring they feel supported and understood. Additionally, she lends a helping hand by assisting with lunchtime yard duty supervision, always stepping up wherever she’s needed.
Thank you, Ms. Jenine, for your generosity, dedication, and for being such a positive force in our school community. You truly make a difference every day!

As we begin this new week, we also begin a very important month—Black History Month.
Each February, we take time to honor the achievements, history, and contributions of Black Americans who have helped shape our country. This month is about learning, reflecting, and celebrating the resilience, creativity, and leadership that have made a lasting impact on our world.
Black history is American history, and throughout this month, we encourage you to take the opportunity to learn something new—whether it’s about a scientist, artist, activist, or leader who has made a difference. Our school will be sharing stories, facts, and activities to highlight these contributions, so stay tuned!
Let’s all take part in recognizing and celebrating the powerful legacy of Black history, not just this month, but every day.
