A New Beginning: Together We Soar!

To all our wonderful families, new and returning, welcome to a brand new school year! We are absolutely thrilled to open our doors and embark on another exciting journey of learning and growth together.

To our new families, we extend a special welcome! We know starting at a new school can bring a mix of emotions, and we want to assure you that you are now an important part of our vibrant community. We are here to support you and your child every step of the way, and we encourage you to reach out with any questions.

And to our returning families, it's so good to have you back! Your continued partnership is invaluable, and we look forward to building on the successes of previous years.

Together, we can make this a year filled with wonderful memories, significant achievements, and a strong sense of belonging for every child. We're excited to see all the amazing things we'll accomplish together!

1st day

First Day of School - Tuesday, August 5th

The first day of school is on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

  • School starts at 8:15am every day.
  • School gates open at 7:30am.
  • The warning bell rings at 8:10am.

Regular Days - 8:15am to 3:10pm
Minimum Days - 8:15am to 1:15pm
  • Please note: Wednesday, August 6th is a minimum day with dismissal at 1:15pm.

Student Schedules

Schedules were sent out in Parent Square on August 1st to all families who have completed the data confirmation process.
  • If you haven't received your schedule yet, please come into the office on Monday, August 4th between 8am and 3:30pm for help.

First period classes will be posted on the first day of school.
  • In first period, teachers will give students a copy of their schedule.

Important information about schedules:
  • There may have been changes from the one you received on August 1st.
  • We are NOT taking any schedule change requests for the first two weeks of school.

Back-to-School Data Confirmation

THANK YOU to all the families who have completed the data confirmation in Aeries. As of today, we've had 434 families complete it. We deeply appreciate you!

If you have yet completed the data confirmation, it's important that we verify all student information on file. Please take a few moments to log into your Aeries Parent Portal to complete the data confirmation process and acknowledge the Parent/Guardian & Student Handbook.

Bus Routes

If your child will be riding the school bus to and/or from school, please review the bus routes.


A reminder that all school rules apply on the bus.
We do not provide transportation to students on a inter-district or intra-district agreement.

After School Program


The Right At School program starts on the first day of school too!
If your child is registered, they can stay starting Tuesday, August 5th!

Location: Room 43
Times:
  • Regular Days: 3:10pm to 6:00pm
  • Minimum Days: 1:15pm to 6:00pm

Snacks and dinner are provided.
Transportation is not provided.

If you MISSED the registration window, you can register
after August 25th!

School Supplies

As you prepare for the first day, we want to make sure that your student is coming prepared.

Students are required to bring the following supplies to school every day.
(Checked in 1st Periods Weekly)
  1. Sturdy 3-ring binder (at least 2”)
  2. 2 or more pencils (if mechanical, please have extra lead)
  3. 2 or more pens (Blue or black)
  4. 8 dividers for 3-ring binder
  5. Pencil Pouch
  6. 2 or more highlighters
  7. Binder Paper (college ruled)
  8. Reusable Water Bottle
  9. Headphones or Earbuds 
Please note: Some subjects may require additional supplies which will be communicated with students on the first day of school. 
 
Assignment Trackers will be given to students the first day by their 1st period teacher.
 
Other Suggested Supplies
  1. Ruler
  2. Index Cards (a set of 100 cards)
  3. Erasers ( 1 standard eraser or 2-3 pencil top erasers)
  4. Set of Markers or Colored Pencils (a set of 8 or 10)

Free Breakfast & Lunch

Every student receives free breakfast an lunch at Gavilan View!

  • Breakfast - Students can either eat breakfast before school or during our morning break. Before School, breakfast is served between 7:30am to 8:10am.
  • Lunch is provided to every student every day.
  • Menus can be found on our school website.

NEW THIS YEAR!
We can no longer accommodate parents or guardians to bring lunches directly to the school for their children. This includes Door Dash, Uber Eats, GrubHub, etc.

Sleep & Rest

As students transition form their summer schedules, we highly encourage them to establish new school routines that prioritize adequate sleep, ensuring they are well-rested and ready to learn.
