Dear Gavilan View Community,

Home of the Hawks!

A Fantastic Start to the School Year!

What a fantastic start to the school year we've had! It has been a joy visiting classrooms and seeing the wonderful energy and engagement. We've seen students and teachers working together to establish strong classroom routines and respect agreements, all while getting to know each other.

It was wonderful to see students getting to know the campus and finding all their classes with confidence. We also had a successful assembly where we had the opportunity to go over our school-wide academic and behavioral expectations with all our students.

We're so fortunate and lucky to have such amazing students here at Gavilan View. We're very much looking forward to an equally great second week of school!

School Updates & Reminders

Every Day Expectations

Bell Schedule

We start school every day at 8:15am.
Students need to be in their seats in their first period class at 8:15am.
We dismiss at 3:10pm on regular days and at 1:15pm every Wednesday.

Supplies

Please remember that students need to bring a water bottle, a two-inch or larger binder, and their trackers to school every day.

Student Schedules

There are no schedule changes for the first two weeks of school as we work to balance our classes and ensure students are correctly placed in the classes they need.

Thank you for your understanding and patience!

Bus Routes

If your child will be riding the school bus to and/or from school, please review the bus routes.

A reminder that all school rules apply on the bus.

We do not provide transportation to students on a inter-district or intra-district agreement.

Boys & Girls Club Transportation

The Boys and Girls Club provides transportation after school from Gavilan View to the Club every day after school.

You must register directly with the Boys & Girls Club.

The bus stop is at the FRONT of the school near the flag pole.

Bus times:

Regular Days: 3:10pm
Minimum Days: 1:15pm

After School Program

NEW PICK UP LOCATION!!!

Starting this Monday, August 11th, you will now pick up your child at the BACK GATE of the school near the library.

Times:

Regular Days: 3:10pm to 6:00pm
Minimum Days: 1:15pm to 6:00pm

Snacks and dinner are provided.

Transportation is not provided.

If you MISSED the registration window, you can register

after August 25th!

Free Breakfast & Lunch

Every student receives free breakfast an lunch at Gavilan View!

Breakfast - Students can either eat breakfast before school or during our morning break. Before School, breakfast is served between 7:30am to 8:10am.
Lunch is provided to every student every day.
Menus can be found on our school website.

NEW THIS YEAR!

We can no longer accommodate parents or guardians to bring lunches directly to the school for their children. This includes Door Dash, Uber Eats, GrubHub, etc.

FREE Produce Distribution

In partnership with the Food Bank of Monterey County, Santa Rita Union School District is holding a

FREE PRODUCE DISTRIBUTION DAY

Monday, August 11, 2025

1:00pm to 2:00pm

Location: Santa Rita Elementary

Picture Day - August 22nd!

All students take their picture on Friday, August 22, 2025.

Envelopes went home last week.

To purchase pictures, you can either:

Purchase online at www.lifetouch.com using the Picture ID Code: EVTHRSS3G.
Return the envelope with the money on Picture Day.

We're so fortunate to have partnered with Artist's Ink and their Yoli Arts Academy on these three beautiful additions to our campus. Students in the Right at School after school program worked on the concepts and helped bring these amazing pieces of art to life. THANK YOU ARTISTS INK!!!
