We’ve seen so much great work happening with our students as they learn new things and build stronger connections with their teachers. We’ve seen them build towers out of cups and spaghetti, create paper airplanes, design safety posters, and more. Teachers reviewed tips on how to be successful in school and reviewed our Second Step curriculum which has age-appropriate social, emotional, and behavioral classroom lessons.

On Friday, we wrapped up the week with a lot of laughs and a whole lot of fun. We had a great time cheering our students on during the Scooter Races and the Rubber Duck Scavenger Hunt.

This upcoming week, we’re ready to dive into content as students receive their Chromebooks. We’re excited for the transition and to continue learning and growing with your students. We are also thrilled to open our doors this Wednesday, August 20th, for our annual Back to School Night. We look forward to seeing you there! We’re going to wrap up our third week with Picture Day on Friday, August 22nd.

We have been having some issues in the parking lot with cars stopping in the middle of the line to drop off or pick up students.

Also, students have been running through the lot instead of using the crosswalks.

Please help us by reinforcing with your children that they need to use the crosswalks and walk, not run. Parents, please DON'T STOP in undesignated areas or in the middle of the parking lot.

Middle school parents have been dropping off students in the New Republic bus area UNSAFELY! The bus drop off area is just for buses. Parents may NOT block bus access, or drive against traffic to drop off middle schoolers. Thank you for your cooperation!

This week, we will open up schedule change requests. We only open this opportunity for one week.

Students can pick up a form in the front office starting Monday, August 18th. They will need to explain why they want the change, get teacher signatures, and a parent signature.

Please remember that this is just a request and NOT A GUARANTEE. Changes will be granted based on space and availability in classes.

This last week, students took home a Housing Questionnaire form. This is a REQUIRED form for all students.

In preparation for the 7th and 8th-grade girls' volleyball season, there will be an open gym for anyone who would like to get some time in before tryouts.

On Tuesday, remember that students cannot stay on campus after school. They must return to campus at 4:15 PM.

Please remember that students need to bring a water bottle, a two-inch or larger binder, and their trackers to school every day.

We've had some students bringing smart watches, gum, stuffed animals, and fragrances to school. This is a reminder that these items are NOT allowed. Please review our Student & Parent Handbook for our policies.

A friendly reminder that we do not allow solid red or blue clothing per our dress code policies. If any one side of a t-shirt or sweater is completely red or blue, then it is considered to be a solid red or blue. If you have any questions about dress code, please review our New Student & Parent Orientation.

We are thrilled to announce our Hawk of the Week, Mara Salinas-Rincon! As our front office clerk, Mara has been instrumental this week in helping our families complete the Aeries Parent Data Confirmation. Thanks to her incredible dedication, we are now down to only 20 families out of 539 who still need to complete this important task—a truly tremendous accomplishment.
