Dear Gavilan View Community,
|
Dear Families,
We have officially made it to the final week of the school year! Following our Memorial Day observance on Monday, we are heading into an incredible week of celebration with three minimum days from Tuesday through Thursday to close out the year. We have a spectacular line-up of fun to send our students off in style.
Tuesday marks our last traditional periods 1–6 schedule, featuring the 8th-grade breakfast and our final Good Job Ticket drawing. Wednesday will be an action-packed day as our campus hosts the 7th-Grade Basketball Tournament and the 6th-Grade Olympics, while our 8th Grade Hawks head out for their Promotion Rehearsal Trip.
The absolute highlight of our week comes Wednesday evening, where we will honor our promoting class at our formal Promotion Ceremony. Huge congratulations to our phenomenal Class of 2026—we are so proud of your leadership and achievements!
We will officially cross the finish line on Thursday, the last day of school, with our campus-wide Game Day, and Summer Vacation officially begins on Friday. Thank you, families, for your unwavering partnership, support, and love throughout this entire school year. We wish all of our Hawks a safe, relaxing, and fun-filled summer break!
Let's make it a memorable final week, Hawks!
Warmly,
Mrs. Antuna, Principal
Ms. Coronel, Assistant Principal

Isabel, Deedee, Maribel, Martha, and Rosi
We are incredibly excited to announce our wonderful Cafeteria Team—Isabel, Deedee, Martha, Maribel, and Rosi—as our Hawks of the Week! Nominated by their peers during Classified Appreciation Week, this phenomenal team went above and beyond when we needed them most. This past week, our campus was buzzing with major events, including our school-wide College & Career Fair and extensive setups for our upcoming 8th-grade celebrations. Our Cafeteria Team showed unmatched flexibility by completely shifting their daily routines and serving student meals through the exterior windows almost all week long, ensuring our school events could run seamlessly without a single disruption to student lunch.
As if completely altering their service model wasn't enough, this team also played a massive role in making our recent student and staff events so special. They came in early and stayed late to cook and prepare delicious items for our faculty, from baking lasagnas and brownies to washing and cutting what felt like endless mounds of fresh strawberries. Their willingness to put in extra hours to care for the students—all during a week meant to celebrate them—is a true testament to their generous spirits and deep commitment to the Gavilan View family.
Beyond their incredible support for the staff, our students are absolutely crazy about this team! The students frequently share how incredibly nice, friendly, and welcoming our lunch ladies are every single day. Our Hawks love the food they cook, but more importantly, they love the environment our team creates. When students walk through the lunch line, they know without a doubt that they are cared for and loved.
Thank you, Isabel, Deedee, Martha, Maribel, and Rosi, for keeping our bodies fueled,
our events running, and our hearts full!
