We need your voice and partnership! Please join us this Thursday, September 10th at 5:30 PM in the Gavilan View Library (or virtually) for our very first combined Cafecito & School Site Council Meeting of the year.
What’s on the Agenda:

- 🏛️ School Site Council Overview: Learn how the Council works and how you can get involved in campus committees and volunteer opportunities.
- 🗳️ Shape Our School Decisions: We NEED our families to come out, share their perspectives, and help guide our school goals to make this an amazing year for all students.
Everyone is welcome—we hope to see you there! Check out the flyer for details.

It’s time for one of our favorite Hawk traditions! Our Annual Beach Trip is happening this Friday, and we are ready for a fantastic day of fun and sunshine.
Important Details & Rules:
- 🎟️ Tickets & Capacity: We have 250 spots available this year! Tickets are $12 and go on sale this Tuesday at lunch.
- 📝 Permission Slips: Permission slips were handed out this past Friday. Students MUST turn in a fully completed permission slip (including insurance and emergency contact information) at the time of ticket purchase—no exceptions!
- 🚌 Transportation Policy: To participate, students MUST ride the school bus both to and from the beach with us.
Spots are first-come, first-serve by grade-level starting Tuesday at lunch, so encourage your Hawk to get their permission slip signed and ready!

Keep that Hawk Spirit going! Our September Spirit Fridays continue this week, and we can’t wait to see our school turned into a tropical paradise.
What You Need to Know:
- 🏖️ This Friday’s Theme: It’s Beach Day! Encourage your student to wear their favorite tropical shirts, beach prints, sun hats, and beachy accessories as we head into our Annual Beach Trip!
- 📌 Dress Code Reminders: Standard school dress code rules still apply—no swimwear or inappropriate logos.
- 🏆 Class Competition: 1st period classes are still competing for highest participation! We are tallying points every Friday, and the winning classes will be announced and awarded prizes at the end of the month.
Help your Hawk plan their outfit so their 1st period class can climb the leaderboard!

- 🌟 Open to ALL Hawks: Whether your student needs extra help or just a quiet space with Wi-Fi to finish assignments, our doors are open to everyone!

We are delighted to celebrate Robert Rodriguez as our Hawk of the Week! Even though his role has transitioned to a district-wide IT technician, Robert remains a vital lifeline for our campus. Nominated by his appreciative colleagues, he serves as the backbone of our day-to-day tech operations. His constant readiness to step in and keep our classrooms connected ensures that our school community never misses a beat.
Robert’s impact is felt across every corner of our school. He was incredible support to Ms. Cuevas during this year's Chromebook distribution, ensuring our students received their devices without a hitch. Whenever tech tickets pop up or staff need urgent assistance, Robert addresses them with incredible speed and care. On top of that, he is always behind the scenes at our major school assemblies and family events, expertly managing our sound systems and media setups so everything runs flawlessly.
What makes Robert so special is his genuine passion for helping others. He doesn't just fix a glitch and walk away; he takes the time to walk staff through the process, empowering us to handle small tech hiccups on our own. His upbeat personality, infectious good humor, and willingness to go the extra mile make every interaction a pleasure. Thank you, Robert, for your incredible work ethic and for always keeping our campus running smoothly!
