Hawk of the Week

Stellar Staff Member

Johnson

Julie Johnson

We are thrilled to honor Julie Johnson as our Hawk of the Week! Nominated by her peers for her extraordinary leadership with our recent Neon Night, Ms. Johnson poured countless hours into planning, decorating, and promoting the event. Her dedication paid off immensely—our MPR was packed with Hawks who spent the entire evening smiling, laughing, and playing. School traditions like Neon Night are a cornerstone of the Gavilan View experience, and Ms. Johnson’s hard work ensured it was an overwhelming success that our students will remember for years to come.

In the classroom, Ms. Johnson brings that same passion and energy to her five sections of Physical Education. She goes above and beyond standard PE curriculum by introducing creative, high-engagement units like Rock Wall, Pickleball, Castleball, and Monster Volleyball to keep learning dynamic and fun. Her dedication to athletics extends well beyond the school day as the head coach for our 7th & 8th Grade Girls Volleyball team, and soon she'll be gearing up to lead our Boys Volleyball team this spring!

Ms. Johnson is a pillar of leadership and advocacy across our campus and district. She serves as our 7th-Grade Team Lead, PE Department Lead, and a key teacher representative on both our School Site Council and District Facilities Committee. Whether she is organizing schoolwide Turkey Trots, driving campus fundraisers, or advocating for the future of our facilities, her heart is always with our school. Gavilan View is truly her home, and we are immensely grateful for the energy, vision, and care she pours into our Hawks every single day!
