Help us keep Gavilan View safe, supportive, and strong! In partnership with the University of Colorado’s Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence, we are collecting family feedback on school safety, climate, and community support.
-
Goal: 1 survey per household. Our goal is 80% family participation!
-
Quick & Anonymous: Takes about 15 minutes online (available in English & Spanish).
- ⚠️ One Sitting: Please finish in one sitting—the session cannot be paused or restarted once closed.
- 💻 Need a Device? Call the front office, and we will gladly set you up on a campus computer.
- 🎁 Win a Gift Basket! Once you complete the survey, send a screenshot or photo of your final confirmation screen to Mrs. Antuna via ParentSquare message or email at santuna@santaritaschools.org to be entered into a raffle for an awesome gift basket!

We are beyond proud to celebrate our incredible
Día de los Muertos Committee—Itzel Coronel, Kassandra Rizo, Jorge Fernandez-
Mora, Eduardo Soto-Rodriguez, Paula Ruiz, & Julie Johnson
—as our Hawks of the Week!
This phenomenal team poured their creativity, passion, and countless hours into bringing an unforgettable, magical cultural celebration to life for our Gavilan View community. From stunning traditional decorations and captivating student art exhibits to vibrant baile folklórico performances, a wonderful performance by our Advanced Band students, student art recognitions, delicious food sales, and an electrifying live art battle, their collaborative vision made this event an absolute masterpiece for our students and families.
An event of this scale takes a village. We extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated staff planning committee, our student volunteers, our hard-working custodial and office teams, and Santa Rita Elementary for teaming up on the Trunk or Treat fun. A special thank you to our partners at Artist’s Ink (David Tapia, Gracie Garcia, and Mar Jimenez) for providing event staff, prizes, and art battle supplies. Thank you, Hawk families, for showing up and making our school community shine!

During November, Gavilan View proudly honors the rich cultures, histories, traditions, and vital contributions of Native American and Indigenous communities.
🌎 Connecting with Local Heritage: We acknowledge and respect the ancestral lands of the Ohlone and Esselen peoples upon which our Salinas community thrives today.
📚 Celebrate at Home: Families can participate together by reading a book by an Indigenous author, listening to Native storytelling podcasts, or exploring the Native-Land.ca interactive map to learn about the ancestral territories, languages, and treaties of the area we call home.
